  • How much do you charge and how/when do I pay?

You can view my current price & size guide here.

To confirm your booking, I will require a deposit  of 50% of the final agreed portrait price. The invoice will be sent to your e-mail address and will include the Terms and Conditions of your booking. This will be non-refundable once I've committed to the work.

I will give you a start date, as well as the completion timeline (this will depend on my workload),

and the outstanding balance will be due once you approve of the final scan of the artwork and are a 100% happy with the result.

  • How long does it take to complete a portrait?

Depending on the size you choose, it can take me anywhere from 2-14 days to complete a portrait and sometimes longer for more complex and detailed works. I will always keep you updated regarding the timelines, as well as sending you regular picture updates to keep you up to date with the process.

  • Can you combine two or more photos into one portrait?/Do my pets need to be in the same photo for the portrait?

I can work from more than one photograph and combine them into one composition.

I will create a mock up and check in with you before making a start on a multiple subject piece,  so you are always involved in the process and completely happy with the chosen composition.

The pets don't need to pose for a photo all at the same time, and sometimes it is even better to work from separate photos as this allows for the best possible outcome for each subject.

  • What is the difference between the coloured pencil and pastel pencil portraits?

As I offer portraits in both pastel pencil and coloured pencil, it's important you know what result to expect when deciding which technique to choose.

I use artist grade materials for both techniques, so each portrait I create will last for years to come,

with both pastel and coloured pencil pieces best preserved behind glass, out of direct sunlight.

Pastel is a dry medium whereas coloured pencils are oil or wax based, but I'm able to achieve great detail with both.

All the coloured pencil portraits will come drawn on off white, acid free paper, unless requested otherwise,

whereas for pastel pieces there is a variety of paper shades to choose from, as well as a possibility for me to work on gradient or full backgrounds.

If you're still unsure, take a look at my portrait gallery, where you can see the description of what was used for each of the portraits or contact me and I'll always be happy to answer any questions you might have!

  • Could I pay in instalments?

It is possible to pay in 2-3 instalments for portraits 16" x 20" and larger.  The artwork will be posted once all the payments are cleared

  • Do you post internationally and how much is the shipping?

Yes I do ship worldwide and offer affordable tracked shipping - usually £15 for small to medium artwork and £20-30 for large pieces.

Please allow time, as it can take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks for your order to arrive.

Shipping within the United Kingdom for small portraits is free, and £10 for larger portraits.

I send all UK parcels with Royal Mail Special Delivery so they arrive the next working day.

  • Do you sell any of your original artwork?

Some of my original artwork is available to purchase. You can view my wildlife gallery here and get in touch if you would like to enquire about any of my original artwork.

  • Will you share photos of my portrait on your social media

Unless the portrait is meant as a surprise gift, or you request otherwise, I will share work in progress photos of the portrait creation, so please let me know if you'd rather I kept it secret until it's gifted.
